MultiChoice South Africa
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela

At MultiChoice South Africa, we believe in positively affecting the communities where we operate. We feel that it’s our responsibility to do what we can to elevate our fellow Africans. From our employees through to entrepreneurs, shareholders and storytellers – we’re honoured to leave a legacy behind that will live in the hearts and minds of people whose lives we’ve touched.
GIVING BACK
By investing in local content, sport and the broadcast industry, we’re creating opportunities for talented South Africans while cementing our role as leader in the entertainment industry. Through our CSI and empowerment initiatives, we make a significant, long-lasting impact on our communities.

Phuthuma Nathi
Phuthuma Nathi 1 and 2 are our B-BBEE share schemes that aim to benefit black South Africans. Through the schemes, black South Africans own 25% of MultiChoice.
Enterprise development
The MultiChoice Enterprise Development Trust supports new and previously disadvantaged business owners in the film, TV and media industries. We provide funding as well as mentorship and skills development for start-ups and established companies alike. More than 40 entrepreneurs were offered training in the past year alone.
Learnerships and Internships
We offer work experience opportunities to students; training and jobs to graduates; and support the growth of small to medium business enterprises. It’s the reason we’ve been awarded a Topco Oliver Empowerment Award for three years in a row.
Broadcast industry
We support community television stations (Soweto TV, GauTV, 1 KZN, Cape TV, Tshwane TV and Bay TV) by offering them free content, equipment, training and technical support. We’ve also established internships so that our talented youth can learn much-needed skills and shape their destinies in the working world.
