The MultiChoice Talent Factory South Africa class of 2021 are holding open auditions for an upcoming dramedy film.

PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS 

As these are significant roles, in-studio auditions may be useful for the actor, however our time frame is tight, a self-tape is an option for the first round. 

OUTLINE: Bazok’hurt usajola. Nonhle Jones finds love in the hands of her best friend’s ex-lover. She falls pregnant and finds herself racing against time to confess this secret to her best friend before the truth reveals itself; jeopardizing her friendship and business partnership. 

Nonhle Jones

Bio: Nonhle Jones co-owns Colour & Curls with Bridgette, apart from that they have been friends for well over a decade. Nonhle is a classy and well-put together woman, who really enjoys what she does. She falls in-love with Scelo; Bridgette’s ex-lover who she never got over. Nonhle falls pregnant with his child, Forbes finds out and now she must confess this well-kept secret before Forbes does. 

Bridgette Dlamini

Bio: Bridgette Dlamini is Nonhle Jones’s best friend and business partner; they co-own Colour & Curls. Bridgette is a classy and immaculately put together champagne lover. Bridgette loves the idea of a soft life and doesn’t believe in repeating clothes – hence she borrows some clothing items from Nonhle to wear to her next calendar event. She is still hopeful that she and Scelo would get back together even after their heart-breaking separation. She is yet to find out that will never happen. She tends to make everything about herself. 

Scelo 

Character description:

Bio: Scelo is a charmer boy, not a typical boy next door. He is aware of his attractive features, given an opportunity he wouldn’t think twice to use that to his advantage. He has a bad boy persona. After a heart-breaking separation from Bridgette, Scelo found love in the hands of Nonhle, who he believes that he has a future with. He is yet to find out that he is the father of her child and confess his love for Nonhle to Bridgette. 

Forbes 

Character description:

Bio: Forbes is an employee at Colour & Curls and has been there for years. He is the life of the party, and his absence is felt. Forbes is the last person to share any tales with, he cannot keep his mouth shut, even though his actions aren’t malicious – he will kiss and tell. Nonhle’s hands are tied when she asks Forbes for a favour, her huge “ask” 

from him ultimately binds her to telling him that she is pregnant. Forbes plays detective and tries to pin the wrong man as Nonhle’s child’s dad. He is yet to find out who the real father is. 

Eugene 

Character description:

Bio: Eugene is a known Barber at Colour & Curls and has been there for years. He is a loveable person and a confidant to Nonhle – one would think that they are brother and sister. He is very focused and works towards a sustainable future. He has a huge crush on Bridgette, and Nonhle knows about it. He is prepared to work hard to get Bridgette. He is falsely pinned to Nonhle’s pregnancy by Forbes because of their close relationship. Eugene too, is yet to find out that his little “sister” is pregnant and the man he has been pushing her to pursue, is Scelo. 

Sho-Not-Madjozi 

Character description:

Bio: Sho-Not-Madjozi is a bubbly social media influencer. She is the centre of attention, a typical influencer – trendy and outspoken. Sho has perfect comedic timing, she always chooses to see the silver lining in any situation and always has a plan to lighten up your mood even if it is for a split second. She attends a party that Forbes invited her to, and instantly changes the atmosphere for Forbes even after she found out that he is fired. 

Fikile Kumalo 

Character description: 

1. Late 20s – Early/mid 30s

NB: Actress will be playing a heavily pregnant woman role. 

Bio: Fikile Kumalo is a regular customer at Colour & Curls. She is heavily pregnant and, in the week, that she is due Fikile decides to honour her last appointment before then. Her arrival for this appointment is the perfect segue for Forbes as it starts controversy in the salon, she is used as a bait for the revelation of the “truth” according to Forbes. At the climax of the revelation Fikile gives birth (in the salon).
