MultiChoice has walked this journey with the reigning Miss Universe from the initial hosting of the of the Miss South Africa Top 16, to the day that Tunzi was crowned Miss South Africa on 9 August 2019 (which coincided with Women’s Day in South Africa).

The Miss South Africa pageant was broadcast live on Mzansi Magic (channel 161) and Tunzi was crowned Miss Universe on 8 December 2019, to the delight of an entire nation.

“It’s incredible to see how far this young lady has come, and it’s been nothing short of magical to watch her star rise,” says Nkateko Mabaso, Chief Executive Officer of M-Net.

Her enthusiastic supporters waited in anticipation and gave her a rousing welcome as she entered the building. A small group of employees, who won an internal competition, got a chance to meet Tunzi and created special memories by having their picture taken with her.

“From all at MultiChoice, we wish Miss Universe nothing but the best for the year ahead and all that she plans to achieve. We are incredibly proud of her,” concludes Mabaso.
